National Holiday allowance (NHA) in Indian Railways

 Now Revised Rates of various allowances upon Dearness Allowance being raised by 50% from 1 January 2024 dates 4.6.2024 [Click here download pdf Notice],  According to railway Board's letter bearing RBE No. 51/2024 dated 05.06.2024 or ref RBE No. 26/2024 dated 15.03.2024  [CLICK HERE DOWNLOAD] DA reach at 50% hence various allowance shall be increase 25% .

1. Vide Board's letter under reference, the rates of Dearness Allowance were raised to 50%. Consequently, multiple references have been received from the Staff Federations regarding revision in the rates of various allowances whose rates were slated to be revised upon DA reaching 50%.
2,The revised rates of these allowances shall be applicable with effect from 1st January, 2024.
3. In view of the same, a list of such allowances whose rates shall be revised with DA reaching 50%, along with the revised rates of National Holiday allowance (NHA) is 7th CPC is given Below.
 
i) Level-1 & Level-1 all employees   - Rs 480 Per holiday duty.
ii) Level-3, Level-4 & Level-5 all employees   - Rs 596 Per holiday duty.
iii) Level-6, Level-7 & Level-8 all employees   - Rs 788 Per holiday duty.

Q-How many National Holidays are given to Railway employees in a year? रेलवे कर्मचारियों को एक वर्ष में कितने राष्ट्रीय अवकाश दिये जाते हैं?

ANS- 3 National Holidays In the case of Railways, 16 holidays for the Office Staff, 15 paid holidays in respect of the Workshop Staff and 12 paid holidays in respect of line staff are to be chosen in consultation with the organized labour. However, these holidays will be inclusive of the three National Holidays i.e. Republic Day (January 26); Independence Day (August 15); and. Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) every years. 3 राष्ट्रीय छुट्टियाँ रेलवे के मामले में, कार्यालय कर्मचारियों के लिए 16 छुट्टियाँ, वर्कशॉप स्टाफ के संबंध में 15 वैतनिक छुट्टियाँ और लाइन स्टाफ के संबंध में 12 वैतनिक छुट्टियाँ संगठित श्रमिकों के परामर्श से चुनी जानी हैं। हालाँकि, इन छुट्टियों में तीन राष्ट्रीय अवकाश यानी गणतंत्र दिवस (26 जनवरी) शामिल होंगे; स्वतंत्रता दिवस (15 अगस्त); और। प्रत्येक वर्ष गांधी जयंती (2 अक्टूबर) ।

iv) Sr. Technician, junior Engineers and higher grade (Level-6) - Rs 844 Per Month.

Risk and Hardship allowance for Track maintainers in Indian Railways

Risk and Hardship allowance for Track maintainers to  given in Indian railway Rs 2700 per months for L-8 and below 8 level  and 3400 per months for L9 and above level 9 from 1 july 2017. In this context, it is pointed out that the amount payable as Risk and Hardship Allowance as per the R3H2 matrix as per accepted recommendation of the 7th CPC is 2700/- for Level-8 and below and ₹3400/- for Level-9 and above. However, it is only the category of "Track Maintainers" (that consists of Track Maintainers- I, II, III and IV) who are eligible for payment of Risk and Hardship Allowance, in terms of RBE No. 87/2017. As per their extant pay level, this allowance payable is therefore 2700/- p.m. Apart from Track Maintainers, no other category of Railway Employees has been included for payment of the aforesaid Risk and Hardship Allowance as per the accepted recommendations of the 7th CPC.

ANS:- Controlling the movement of rail traffic within their section. Arranging the crossing of trains, efficient utilization of wagons and formation of goods trains at junction stations. Re-scheduling rolling stock, transshipment, etc. in the case of accidents and breakdowns Section controllers and deputy chief controllers is responsible employees.

Q-what is main duty of Section controllers and deputy chief controllers in Indian Railways as a control organization?

ANS:- The Control Organization of Indian Railways is the nerve centre of train operations. It controls the asset management of the Railways, in a dynamic situation, round the clock incessantly moving trains on its entire network. To guide and assist the section controller, there are shift Deputy Controllers. All technical disciplines involved in train movement have a representative in the Control office to provide the required support from his department. These would include i) Motive Power Controller ii)Traction Power Controller iii) Signaling and Tele - Communication Controller iv) Commercial Controller v) Security Controller vi) C& W Control vii) Engineering Control etc.
