Indian Railways revised the Kilometrage Allowance (KMA) and Allowance in Lieu of Kilometrage (ALK) for running staff, with rates increasing by 25% following the hike in Dearness Allowance to 50%. The revised rates are effective retrospectively from January 1, 2024.

i) Loco pilot (Mail) grade pays 4200, level-6 :- Rs. 606 (PER 100 Km) KMA and Rs. 969 (PER 160 km) ALK.
ii) Loco pilot (passenger)/sr. motorman grade pay 4200, level-6 :- Rs. 600 (100 Km) KMA and Rs. 960 (160 km) ALK
iii) Loco pilot (train manager /goods) grade pay 4200, level-6 :- Rs. 594 (100 Km) KMA and Rs. 951 (160 km) ALK
iv) Loco pilot (shunting) grade-1 grade pay 4200, level-6 :- Rs. 461 (100 Km) KMA and Rs. 737 (160 km) ALK
